MICROSILK is suitable for:

Material application

Substrate preparation:

The application surface must be dry, clean, free of grease, loose elements and any other materials that could reduce the adhesion of MICROSILK to them.

On absorbent substrates, the use of PLANOPRIMER primer is recommended.

Existing floor and/or wall coverings made of ceramic tiles, marble, mosaics, etc. must be well fixed to the substrate and free of residues that could affect adhesion.

If required, clean the surface depending on the type of surface dirt with ALCALINE CLEANER, ACID CLEAN or ACID CLEAN TURBO and rinse with clean water. Before laying the material, apply the acrylic quartz primer PLANO CONTACT FAST. The coating follows after the primer has completely dried.

Preparation of the mixture:

The product is ready to use.

How to apply:

Apply with a plastic or stainless steel spatula in two or three coats depending on the desired finish.

On horizontal surfaces such as floors, stairs, etc., to increase strength, it is necessary to incorporate alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh after the first layer.

For a particularly minimalist final finish, it is recommended to lightly sand the penultimate layer to eliminate any unevenness.

The grain size of the sandpaper should be selected according to the requirements.

Upon completion of the coating and once it has completely dried, the surface can be sealed according to the requirements of the application using one of NOVAMIX’s products.

Expansion joints:

The location of each expansion joint depends on the use of the surface and the geometry of the space.

Recommendations:

• Apply only to a structurally stable and properly prepared substrate with mechanical strength appropriate to the intended use.
• Avoid application in direct sunlight and/or strong wind as well as rain.
• Do not apply to existing substrate expansion joints.
• Do not use on substrates with continuous rising humidity.
• In areas with water, the substrate must be waterproofed first.
• Do not apply at substrate and ambient temperatures lower than +10°C and higher than +35°C.
• Do not apply directly to anhydride substrates, metal, flexible or surfaces with high vibration.
• Shades may vary with application method and surface sealer.
• It is recommended that the application be carried out by a qualified user.

Cleaning:

Tools, containers and machinery can be cleaned while the mixture is still wet, with water. After it has set, it can only be removed by mechanical means.
